This course accompanies the existing MITx courses “You Can Innovate: User Innovation and Entrepreneurship” and “Product and Service Creation in the Internet Age.” As such, the curriculum of this course is based on the field of user innovation, pioneered by Professor Eric von Hippel at MIT.
You’ll learn about Bootstrap’s grid system to construct complex layouts. Then, you’ll style and populate your site using Bootstrap’s utility classes and components. With Bootstrap, HTML, some familiarity with CSS, and JavaScript, you’ll be making websites in no time.
These 3 points may look really simple but these are fundamental blocks of getting started as a web developer. Our goal is to make sure that you understand syntax of Boostrap 4. Further together, we will make projects so that you can understand entire workflow of creating landing pages and web pages. Further we will also look at finding right things from digging into documentation of Bootstrap 4. New elements like Cards and media queries are also covered.
Responsive web design is an approach that allows design across various devices (mobile, desktop, tablet, etc.) and suggests design should respond to the user’s behavior based on screen size, platform and orientation. Flexible grids are foundational elements of responsive design. All assets such as images adapt to various screen sizes & resolutions (using CSS media queries). As a result, the user has great UX no matter what device they use—whether it’s a large desktop or small screen of mobile device, the website automatically switch to accommodate for resolution.
This course details comprehensively the practice of making websites responsive to a wide variety of display types and sizes, by covering the main features of the Bootstrap 4 and 5 libraries. The course assumes a prior knowledge of HTML and CSS. If you have worked through the precursor Udemy courses to this one– HTML 5 and CSS 3 Visual Learning– or have equivalent knowledge and skills in using markup for web pages, you will be able to work through the Bootstrap examples in this course.
This course will literally take you from knowing nothing about Bootstrap 3 or 4 to learning all of the utilities, components, widgets and grids and building real world themes and websites. You do NOT need to know Bootstrap 3 for this course. Even if you already know Bootstrap 4, skip the learning sections and head right for section 6 to create the simple boiler theme and start the projects. Everything is completely modular!
This course will take you from a complete beginner to a Bootstrap 4 expert in a matter of hours! Or, if you already know Bootstrap 3, this course will serve a complete guide to all the new changes and improvements in Bootstrap 4. By the time we're done, you'll master every single component, the powerful grid system, and the brand-new utility classes. By then end of the course we'll be building complete, responsive websites that looks great on all devices. We'll learn to write and compile SASS to customize our own version of Bootstrap. In addition, since Bootstrap 4 is now built on top of Flexbox, we spend a lot of time learning the ins and outs of Flexbox along the way!
